but the ravens hovering over Big Ben

did not let me.

I wanted to gaze at the city every day

from the height of the London Eye

but the rain and clouds didn’t let me.

I wanted to breathe in the aroma

of candied peanuts under the bridge

but the deep waters of the Thames didn’t let me.

I wanted somewhere on Baker Street

to come across Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson

but two fox cubs led me astray from my path.

I wanted on that day at Piccadilly Circus

to have Eros bring your love back to me

but you missed this station of the subway.

I wanted us both to stay in London, you and I,

and have a house on Camden Square…

I wanted this. But today I am leaving.
